Your sailing instructor
Your sailing instructor Tim has long-standing experience as a sailing instructor on Lake Zurich. With the right balance between efficiency and enjoyment, he professionally teaches you how to sail.
Training program
The sailing yacht and its equipment. Setting and taking down sails, reefing, rigging sails. Sailing according to wind and compass on various courses.
Tack, gybe, q-turn, reverse, heaving-to, laying-to, berthing under sail, picking up a mooring buoy, «man overboard» maneuver. General maritime skills (knots, securing the ship, safety on board, fundamentals of ship handling). Preparation for the exam category D.
Duration of training
The duration of the training varies depending on the individual's qualifications. In average it takes approx. 12 to 18 lessons of 2 hours to reach the exam level.
The sailing school can be completed in blocks as a half-day course, full-day course, or in 120-minute lessons according to your wishes and availability. We are happy to talk about the appropriate variant and its advantages and disadvantages with you.
Teaching materials
Our specially developed comprehensive training materials include, in addition to the written materials, videos of all the maneuvers as well as a learning app for iOS and Android and are included in the training price. The documents will be handed over to you during your first lesson.
Category A1 (motor-powered sailing vessels)
You can complete the training to operate motor-powered sailboats (category A1) with us on our sailing boat. The training process consists of the same maneuvers as the motorboat category A exam, with the exception of the reverse maneuvers, which are not part of this training. The same fees apply as for the training for the sailing exam category D.
